A manic day at Rock Lodge vineyard banging in yet more end posts with Kevin, Alex T and Mandy. Despite a slow start (I had to prep the Massey tractor and drive it the 8 miles from college, typically with long lines of commuting cars on my tail) we made excellent headway today. With over 60 posts today I we’ve broken the back of the work. Some areas of the vineyard are very hard with the imperveous subterranean sandstone, and we are leaving these to external consultants with drilling gear. We’ll be doing more of the same tomorrow, though without Kevin. I’m glad he was there today: some of the cross-camber traverses gave me the willies, but he certainly knows his tractors and he drove for most of the day with the rest of us variously juggling posts.
8 hours worked.
